Analytical Instruments Testing Series-Training on ICP-MS & ICP-OES

Spectro offers a golden opportunity to acquire a valuable exposure to one of the most sophisticated instruments those are Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectroscopy and Mass Spectrometry (ICP-OES/ICP-MS). The training program organized by Spectro is well designed for those who want to obtain theoretical and practical knowledge about the principle, working and application of these instruments. During the program, the trainee learns the aspects of method development, sample preparation, sample handling, operating and the technology being used.

Aim of the Program:

The objective of training is to enhance the knowledge of an individual and providing a hands-on training on the instruments. The training is conducted in two sections; theoretical and practical. Under theoretical section, complete information about the basic principles of ICP-OES/MS, system hardware, set up and operation is provided. A detailed description about optimization of operating parameters, analysis protocols, considerations and maintenance of the instrument is given. While under the practical section, a complete hands-on experience on the instruments ICP-MS (Agilent technologies, 7700 series, G5700A) and ICP-OES (Varian Vista-MPX) is provided.

Minimum Eligibility Required The trainee must hold a Diploma or Graduation Degree in Science field or must be pursuing the same.

Training Module for 6 Days

Day 1
Introduction to fundamentals and applications of ICP-OES/MS, software familiarization and description of instrument.
Day 2
Components of sample introduction, sample handling, preparation, measurement system hardware overview.
Day 3
Overview of System hardware, system setup and operation, detection limit determination, system optimization and background correction.
Day 4
Internal Standards, analysis protocols and consideration, sample analysis using methods of standard additions.
Day 5
Physical and spectral interferences (Inter element) and system maintenance.
Day 6
Calculation and reporting data, conclusion and generating discussion..
