Spectro is always been striving for spreading the importance of radiation safety measures that should be taken while conducting any NDT activity. Non-Destructive Testing plays a very crucial role in construction, manufacture, quality control and residual life assessment. The area under scope for these activities is broadening perpetually and upgrading its position in the market. The Industrial Radiographers gets exposed to radiations thus they need to be made alert on the issues related to it.

Aim of the Program:

The aim behind conducting the training programs on NDT is to inculcate skills in the crew members for radiation protection to make them able of conducting the radiographic practices. The complete process that is followed is explained in detail for a better understanding. Every individual trainee is made vigilant about the impacts that could be faced in case of not fulfilling the requirements as per the Indian Government Act. All the information about Atomic Energy Act passed on.
Minimum Eligibility Required The trainee must hold a Diploma or Graduation Degree in Science field or must be pursuing the same.

Training Module for 6 Days

Day 1
Explanation of Basic Radiation Physics, interaction, detection and biological effects of Radiations. The sources of Industrial radiography X-Ray equipments and Gamma Rays are explained. The photographic recording, characteristics of X-Rays, Film processing, Radiation monitoring and its control is demonstrated.
Day 2
Radiographic Quality and Exposure-Geometric aspects of Shadow formation, SFD, IQI and Exposure time are elucidated. The selection protocols for Radiographic Techniques, codes and standards and Defectology are explained.
Day 3
Ultrasonic Testing: Explaining the basics of NDT, its types and characteristics of waves.
Day 4
Methods of generating Ultrasonic waves: Magnetostriction and Piezoelectric effect.
Day 5
Liquid Penetrating Testing: General introduction to LPT, its principle, advantages, drawbacks and materials and equipments required. The surface preparation and penetrant applications are explained.
Day 6
Magnetic Particle Testing: Introduction, applications, criteria for successful inspection, its advantages and limitations. Knowledge on the test methods and techniques, methods of magnetization, sequence of operations, techniques for sensitivity check, its evaluation and interpretation is imparted.
