Food Testing
With a motive: “Safe and Good Quality Food to the Consumers in India & abroad”

Pesticide / Insecticide Residues

Residual analysis of various groups of Pesticides / Insecticides / Fungicides is done by fully validated methods as per National and International Standards such as AOAC, PAM, EPA etc using Thermo Finnigan PolarisQ Ion Trap GCMSMS with Headspace autosampler. All the methods are validated by estimating Pesticide recoveries in various spiked matrixes as per the standard methods and by estimating the Method Detection Limits (MDL), LOD and LOQ. Spectro Lab routinely tests various Food and Water samples for following pesticide groups:

  • Organochlorine
  • Organophosphorus
  • Chlorinated Acids
  • Phenylurea Herbicides
  • Synthetic Pyrethroids
  • Carbamates
  • Polynuclear Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs)
  • Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs)

Antibiotics and Drug Residues by LC-MS/MS

Fully validated methods are adopted for the Residual analysis of various groups of Drug Residues / Antibiotics as per National & International Standards and LCMSMS Application Notes using Agilents triple quad (QQQ) LCMSMS with VWD. All the methods are validated by estimating antibiotics recoveries in various spiked matrixes as per the standard methods and by estimating the Method Detection Limits (MDL), LOD and LOQ.

  • Chloramphenicol Antibiotics
  • Nitrofurans & their metabolites (AOZ, AMOZ, AHD, SEM)
  • Tetracyclines Antibiotics
  • Sulfonamides Antibiotics
  • Anthelmintics Antibiotics (Albendazole, Fenbendazole)
  • Metronidazole Antibiotics
  • Ronidazole Antibiotics
  • Non Steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (Phenyl Butazone)
  • Streptomycin
  • Total Antibiotic Residues (as β-Lactam)

Mycotoxins by LC-MS/MS

Agilents triple quad (QQQ) LCMSMS and HPLC Binary system with Fluorescence detector is used for the Residual analysis of various Mycotoxins as per AOAC Standards and LCMSMS Application Notes. All the methods are validated by estimating recovery studies in various spiked matrixes as per the standard methods and by estimating the Method Detection Limits (MDL), LOD and LOQ.

  • Aflatoxin M1
  • Aflatoxin B1, G1, B2, G2
  • Total Aflatoxin
  • Zearalenone
  • Deoxyvalenone
  • Ochratoxin A

Toxic Elements / Heavy Metals by ICP-OES

Spectro Lab is equipped with Varian Vista-MPX ICP-OES and state-of-the-art spectrometers such as Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer with Graphite furnace, Hydride generator and XRF Spectrometer. Elements such as As, Pb, Cd, Hg, Cr, Sn, Zn, Sb, Cu, Hexavalent Chromium, etc present in foods and water ate treated as Toxic metals. These elements induce toxic effects on human body. Such foods containing toxic elements greater than the maximum permissible limits can be avoided, after testing.
